Situated at the south-eastern corner of County of Dufferin, the Town of Mono stretches from Highway #9 along the southern border to about twenty kilometres north to Highway #89 along the northern border. Airport Road (also known as County Road 18) is close to the eastern boundary and Highway 10 / Hurontario Street is the most western major roadway. It’s sixteen kilometres from east to west. It borderson the east with the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio andon the west with the Township of Amaranth.It’s within commuting distance of urban centres such as Toronto, Brampton and Guelph.

 The Town of Mono is a rural community known for its rolling tree-covered hills, farms and settlements with creeks and streams that form the headwaters of the Nottawasaga, Humber, Grand and Credit rivers. The Niagara Escarpment and Hockley Valley provide breaktaking views.

 The fabulous farm land is home to many on-farm stores: Am Braigh Farm, Connie’s Kitchen & Fresh Produce, Islandview Farm Market, Peaceful Valley Farm, Providence Meadows, Reids Potatoes and Far, Market, Rockcliffe Farm and Seventh Heaven Apiary. Escarpment Gardens has naturally grown herbal teas available online and the Orangeville Farmers’ Market.

 Mono has heritage restaurants; the Globe Restaurant since 1859 and the Mono Cliffs Inn in the former 1853 Mono Centre General Store. The farm-to-table menu changes daily in this homey country inn with a fireplace & a cellar pub. At the Rosemount General Store and Kitchen (1862) all of the meals at are made from local farm fresh ingredients for a delightful culinary experience. Online ordering, takeout, delivery, and curb side service are available daily.Fine dining at Hockley Valley Resort where the on-site 2-acre organic fruits and vegetables garden supplies 80% of the fruits and vegetables or The Black Birch Restaurant in Hockley Valleywith its seasonal farm-to-table movement treating the palate to the tastes of fine food with perfectly paired wine or local beer. It is a perfect balance of country setting and fine dining located right across from the Hockley Valley Provincial Reserve.

Library services are available in 3 different areas. New Tecumseth has branches in Alliston, Tottenham and Beeton; Orangeville has branches on Alder Street and Mill Street; as well as the one branch in Shelburne.

Recreation choices range from the Mono Nordic Ski Club, Mono Tennis Club or the Monora Lawn Bowling Club, fishing and rowing at Island Lake. Mono has seven Municipal Parks with playgrounds. Amazing trails for hiking, biking or horse back riding available in Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, Bruce Trail, Hockley Valley Nature Reserve, Monora Park, and Island Lake Conservation.
