Melancthon Township is a rural community in the northwest corner of Dufferin County located north and west of Shelburne. Arterial Roads are County Road 124, Highway 10 and Highway 89.
Farming is the main occupation and growing and marketing potatoes is the major industry.
Within the Township there are three Hamlets – Horning’s Mill (the largest), Corbetton and Riverview.Horning’s Mill has remains quite untouched. Most of the buildings were constructed between 1850 – 1880 and are in fantastic condition located in the Pine River Valley, surrounded by prime farmland and the Niagara Escarpment.
